Course Description

The goal of this class is to provide the student with the skills and abilities to research, organize, and prepare for performance-oriented training. The student will explore instructor liability, lesson plan design, and testing and evaluation of learning. Each student is responsible for writing and presenting an original one-hour lesson plan on a basic public safety topic. There is a one-week break between the first and second week of training. 40 Course Hours

Registration is required by completing the course application form and submitting it to the Law Enforcement Academy. Contact us for additional training requests or questions at Academy Registration.

 

Prerequisites

Participants must provide a letter signed by the agency head stating that the participant has a minimum of 3 years of full-time experience with the agency and will be utilized by the agency as a training officer. The letter must be on agency letterhead. Participants who do not meet the minimum prerequisites but have exceptional circumstances will be evaluated by the academy director on a case-by-case basis. The class is limited to 16 students.
