Course Description

Overview

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers are expected to see about 241,200 job openings each year through 2032. With the right training and credentials, this field offers strong earning potential and steady demand—making it a great time to begin your driving career.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires new Class B CDL applicants to complete ELDT, which includes both theory and behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction.
This course fulfills all required ELDT theory (knowledge) training outlined in 49 CFR Part 380, Special Training Requirements.

You’ll study:

  • Basic vehicle operation
  • Safe driving procedures
  • Advanced operating practices
  • Vehicle systems and malfunction reporting
  • Essential non-driving responsibilities

This program was developed with an approved provider listed on FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR).

After You Complete the Course

Once you pass the final exam, your ELDT theory completion will be automatically submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation Training Provider Registry. After completing BTW training and other requirements, you may take your state CDL skills test. Successful testing results in a state-issued CDL and eligibility for employment operating Class B commercial vehicles.

Important Notes

  • This course satisfies ELDT theory requirements only.
  • Behind-the-wheel training, CDL testing fees, and state charges are not included.
  • Due to program access and credential reporting, refunds and transfers are not available once enrollment is granted.
